Though no man, no matter how great, can know his destiny…

“Though no man, no matter how great, can know his destiny, some lives have been foretold, Merlin…Arthur is not just a King-he is the Once and Future King. Take heart, for when Albion’s need is greatest, Arthur will rise again. It has been a privilege to have known you, young warlock-the story we have been a part of will live long in the minds of men.” (From http://merlin.wikia.com/wiki/Transcript:The_Diamond_of_the_Day)

Through the sea of 2016 celebrity deaths, I reminisced on their lives, roles, and the legacies left behind. Never have I posted about a such a death, but John Hurt’s passing provoked something different. The series, Merlin, came at a time when my family needed inspiration. My youngest daughter and I shared so many wonderful times watching young Merlin’s adventures, and I will always be grateful for the escape Merlin offered.

Rest in peace, Mr. Hurt.

(And God please watch over Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart!)
