The Reason We Write

“A film, a piece of theatre, a piece of music, or a book can make a difference.

It can change the world.”

Alan Rickman

This quote by Alan Rickman found its way onto my Facebook feed today from Dictionary.com (which by the way is a great site to follow). Some people say we do not need the arts, but this pretty much sums up the exact reason why we do. I can think of examples from each that have touched my family’s hearts and changed our lives.

A writer’s success should not rely on sales and fame, but on our impact. If we can inspire just one person to better their lives, our purpose is served.

Write on, my friends. The world needs art!
