Shades of Life
By Susan Cunningham
The souls of ancient heaven slumber,
Time long forgotten, replaced unkind.
Colors of the past, lost future without light.
Beauty finds company in crumbles of ruins.
Mists become spirits searching for their kind.
Bitter earth holds secrets, buried past gone by.
Howling wind sings a hail to home.
Fire begs to those that listen,
Dancing to the heavens above.
Water roars an angry cry,
Missing spirits of old.
